Theme

Open Access: Demystifying Open Science and Research Literature Barriers

Objectives

To sensitize over 200 local academic staff, doctors, and students on open access workflows.
To foster a culture of open science and open self-archiving in Tanzanian medical and humanitarian fields.

Key Activities

Parallel public lectures addressing open data dissemination at SAUT (targeting general lecturers and librarians) and at CUHAS (targeting medical practitioners, medical students, and members of the Medical Student Association of Tanzania - TAMSA).

Participants

University lecturers, research scientists, medical doctors, medical students, and regional library coordinators.

Outcomes

Amplified local awareness on avoiding predatory journals, distributed educational open access brochures, and expanded academic registrations on open repositories.
