COTUL engages members in joint information provision: acquisition of electronic resources, research support, training, and consultancy.
Provide access to high-quality scholarly electronic information resources to a wider academic community at substantially lower subscription rates and favorable terms.
Promote rapid and efficient access to scholarly content while encouraging the use of ICT in teaching and learning among members.
Promote interaction and inter-library cooperation amongst participating universities.
Evaluate the usage of subscribed resources and identify new resources that should be subscribed under the programme.
Bring qualitative change to teaching, learning, and research to meet the ever-growing challenges of globalized higher education.
Increase the research productivity of member institutions, both in terms of quality and quantity of publications.
Provide capacity-building training to librarians, research scholars, and faculty from member institutions for effective use of electronic resources.
Encourage knowledge sharing through peer-to-peer learning, best practice case studies, the annual conference, and cooperation between library consortia.
