What is COTUL?
COTUL is an acronym for the Consortium of Tanzania University and Research Libraries. It is a strategic alliance among academic and research libraries in Tanzania aimed at improving access to information resources in different disciplines.
Who is eligible to become a COTUL member?
All university libraries, colleges and polytechnic libraries, research libraries, and special libraries are eligible to apply to join the consortium.
How can my institution become a COTUL member?
Institutions joining the consortium for the first time are advised to submit their request to the COTUL General Secretary.
Is there any cost for becoming a COTUL member?
Institutions joining for the first time pay an application fee once. As partner members, they then pay an annual contribution and subscription fee to participate in COTUL programs and services.
How do I access subscribed e-resources?
Access to electronic resources is IP-enabled for member institutions — you do not need a login ID and password. Resources are accessible anywhere on your campus network, and many institutions also link to them via their library website.
When should my institution pay the annual subscription fee?
Partner members are expected to pay the annual e-resources subscription fee before July each year.
Who do I contact if I cannot access a subscribed resource?
